England's women have sealed fifth place in the Champions Trophy by beating arch-rivals Australia with their hockey sticks, sealing a 2-0 win and guaranteeing a place at next year's competition.

Beckie Herbert and Chloe Rogers each scored in the first and second halves of the match respectively, while keeper Beth Storry was hailed by coach Danny Kerry after saving four penalty corner opportunities.

"Beth kept us in the game in the second half with great saves from Australia's penalty corners," he told BBC Sport after the game. "I go away from this tournament feeling OK ... and knowing that we are competitive."

Argentina - next year's hosts - are poised to face the Netherlands in the final, while New Zealand saw off the challenge of South Korea in the third-place playoff.

Last week, the England Hockey Board offered fans with grandstand tickets for the London Cup - due to start on July 12th - the chance to upgrade their seats by entering into a free ballot.
