England have informed a number of players that they have been chosen to represent the country in an upcoming tournament in the Netherlands.

The Rabo Four Nations Cup is being used by the national team as a warm-up to the European Championships in August and will take place from Tuesday (June 28th).

England are due to use their hockey sticks in matches against Germany, Pakistan and the host nation.

Ben Hawes, who has experience of captaining Great Britain in the 2008 Olympic Games, has been named in the squad, along with Mark Pearn of East Grinstead.

Head coach Jason Lee stated: "We are still waiting the return from injury and exams of our full group but this has opened up the opportunity to try new players and combinations in this tournament."

In other hockey news, the fixtures for next season's England Hockey League have recently been announced, with champions Beeston facing Surbiton on the opening day.
