A host of hockey players and teams will be recognised next month when the sport's Annual Awards are held in London.

The England Hockey Board has this week announced the nominations for a host of prizes, including the prestigious Club of the Season title, for which Alderley Edge, Beeston, London Wayfarers, Bromsgrove and Old Silhillians are in the running.

Also due to be under the spotlight on July 16th in west London are Dave Birdly, Tom Cox, Ken Buckley and Jim Chadbourne, who have been nominated for the Club Coach of the Year prize.

Other awards due to be handed out on the night include Club Umpire of the Year, County, League or Association Volunteer of the Year and Male and Female Performance Player of the Year.

Another date for the diaries of hockey fans in the capital should be the London Cup, which also kicks off in the city in July.
