Netball is a demanding, fast moving, multidirectional sport and as a result, puts massive demands on your body and footwear. Many players do not wear Netball specific footwear, and by doing so are not providing themselves with the correct support or grip for the rigours of the game.

ASICS netball shoes are specifically designed for the rigours of this highly demanding sport, with strategically-placed technology created to increase comfort, prevent injury and improve performance.

ASICS netball shoes provide far more stability, durability and grip than a regular non-netball specific shoe making them the BEST FOR NETBALL.

NETBALL SHOES vs RUNNING SHOES

NETBALL SHOES

Improved grip for quicker multidirectional propulsion.

Better stability through the foot and ankle.

Reduced risk of ankle sprains.

Improved flexibility for multidirectional movements.

RUNNING SHOES

Mesh upper designed for running mainly in a linear (forward) direction.

Support provided more for medial (inward) rolling of the foot and ankle.

Grip and flexibility designed mainly for road and treadmill running.

NETBALL SHOES - KEY FEATURES

Asics’ Netball Specific Shoes focus on stability, cushioning, flexibility and wear which are all crucial to performance and injury prevention.

STABILITY

Netball specific Duomax technology provides the netball player with better support in all directions, reducing energy loss during the directional changes encountered in netball.

A netball shoe is designed for more side to side or lateral movements. This is achieved by increasing the strength of the upper section of the court shoe.

A running shoe is designed to support the foot primarily in a forward motion only.

CUSHIONING

Enclosed rearfoot GEL is positioned specifically to absorb impact during jumping and landing.

Enhanced midsole materials are used to keep the shoes light and provide longer lasting cushioning.

A running shoe has GEL-positioned for 'heel strike', a running specific movement.

FLEXIBILITY

The flexibility is affected by the outsole design. Netball specific outsoles have grooves in the longitudinal and horizontal directions to allow for multidirectional movements, giving the player more comfort and grip when moving fast, twisting and turning in all directions.

The outsole of a running shoe is designed mainly for forward directions and therefore only has horizontal flex grooves.

WEAR

A netball shoe has a more durable outsole made of harder rubber enabling it to withstand greater wear particularly on asphalt and concrete floors. The stitch toe stop prevents any excessive wear at the toe during toe drag. Non-marking outsoles with AHAR+ (ASICS High Abrasion Resistance Rubber) have been designed for increased durability and wear on the hard court surfaces during multidirectional movements.

Running creates less wear in the forefoot, therefore the rubber compound in a running shoe is softer and not as durable as a netball shoe
