England Saxons have chosen Harlequins star Rory Clegg to wear rugby clothing and play at fly-half for the first time.

The Amlin Challenge Cup winner has impressed coach Stuart Lancaster enough to earn a spot in the team for this weekend's Churchill Cup tie against the USA at Northampton.

He is joined in the starting line-up by Micky Young and Alex Goode, who are the only survivors from the side that secured the title last summer.

Lancaster explained: "We've got a good mix of players including seven of those who did well against an experienced Barbarians side at Twickenham and there are more players who've joined us after big club games."

He added that he is determined to win the Churchill Cup once again to follow up the 2010 triumph against Canada in New Jersey.

In Saturday's (June 4th) other match in the competition, Canada are set to take on Italy.
