The shock absorption of the GEL Cushioning System in the rearfoot and forefoot improves the level of cushioning and comfort, while the Trusstic System gives the shoe structural integrity and support. The GEL-CUMULUS 13 also features gender specific cushioning, to give the most comfortable ride for the male runner, which is also enhanced by the Impact Guidance System (IGS) - ASICS Design Philosophy - that employs linked componentry that emphasises the foots natural gait from heel strike to toe-off.

I.G.S. (IMPACT GUIDANCE SYSTEM) - ASICS design philosophy in which the individual components of the shoe work together resulting in a more comfortable step and an improved gait.
REARFOOT AND FOREFOOT GEL CUSHIONING SYSTEMS - Silicone-based material placed in critical areas of the sole which dampens shock when the foot hits the ground allowing for a smooth movement through the step and reducing the risk of injury.
SOLYTE MIDSOLE MATERIAL - Spongy layer between the sole and upper designed to absorb shock and cushion the foot. Solyte is a lighter material than SpEVA and EVA and features enhanced durability.
GUIDANCE LINE - Vertical flex groove in the sole which encourages a more efficient running style.
COMFORDRY SOCKLINER - Insole placed inside the shoe which provides cushioning keeping the foot drier and cooler.
